On Monday June 4th, a province wide search for the Best Seafood Chowder in Nova Scotia concluded at Murphy’s Restaurant when a winner was crowned the “Master of Seafood Chowder” thanks to a delicious recipe.
Nine contestants battled it out in front of a panel of celebrity judges, including Gordon Stewart from the Restaurant Association of Nova Scotia, Emily Haynes of Taste of Nova Scotia, Colin Maclean of Waterfront Development Corporation, Lynn Ledwidge of Destination Halifax and Caroline Parker of 96.5 Kool fm. Each seafood chowder was judged on presentation, use of local ingredients, overall cost of ingredients and the criteria of most importance: taste.

The contestants brought their A game - the seafood chowders were incredibly unique and delicious, each featuring a variety of local Nova Scotian ingredients. The Judges had their work cut out for them! After much deliberation, tasting, tough decisions and very close scores, a winner was announced!
