Halifax is a great city for foodies
Innovative chefs using local ingredients, a Nova Scotian wine industry that continues to gain acclaim and a year-long roster of festivals celebrating food are just a few of the reasons Halifax is becoming known for food and wine.
Savour Food and Wine month just wrapped up in Halifax, culminating with Savour, the largest food and wine show east of Montreal. Other highlights during the month-long celebration included the third annual Nova Scotia Ice Wine Festival (February 4-14), the annual Dine Out program, with special prix-fixe menus in restaurants across Nova Scotia (February 1-11) along with a myriad of special events hosted by wineries, chefs and restaurants across the province. Coming up the food festivals continue with Greek Fest (June 11-13), Multicultural Festival (June 25-27), Catch! Nova Scotia Seafood Festival (June 19-20) and the Nova Scotia Wine Festival (September 06 – October 29).
